Zhongshan Torch Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone

Zhongshan Torch Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone was Jointly established by the ministry of Science and Technology, Guangdong provincial Government and Zhongshan Municipal government in 1990,and was approved as one of the nation level hi-tech industrial development zones by State Council in 1991.Located in the east part of Zhongshan City, 12 kilometers away from of city center, it covers an area of 90m2 and a population of 200,000 people. It is adjacent to Pearl River Estuary in the east, Zhuhai and Macao in the south, Jiangmen and Foshan in the west, Guangzhou, Panyu and Shunde in the north, and only separated from Shenzhen and Hongkong by the sea. So far, 7 national industrial bases have been set up on this piece of hot land; 5 industries i.e. Electronic Information, Biological Medicine, Packaging & Printing, Chemical Industry, Auto parts Industry have gained rapid expansion; Electronic Information Park, Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Park, Packaging and Printing Industrial Park, Health Technology Industrial Park, National Industry Park and Linhai Industrial Park have been integrated with perfect management, complete function and excellent surroundings. It is now a new modern city combing technology research, work, life, entertainments and providing customers at home and abroad with super-excellent environment.

Total industrial output is expected to hit 80 billion RMB and GDP will reach 20 billion RMB in 2007.Until 2011,total industrial output is expected to hit 150 billion RMB and GDP 35 billion RMB, and there will be population of 500,000 people.
